Every year there are hundreds of families in our local community that are struggling to provide the basic essentials for their children. There is nothing worse than feeling anxious and unsure, especially through tough family circumstances.
The Department of Communities works with thousands of families within the community to protect children and young people and to help find them a safe home. Gotcha Back partners with various child safety offices and puts together backpacks full of essentials for young people in need. We aim to ensure that every child feels comfortable, warm and clean, no matter their circumstance.

This year has been a tough one for so many families in our local community. We have some amazing opportunities this Christmas to lift people up and show them just how valuable they are.
We will be once again partnering with Nerang and Beenleigh Child Safety to make sure no child in their care misses out on receiving a gift this Christmas.
You can Buy a Gift or Donate money to those families in need. To find out what you need to know before buying click the button below for all of the information. If you would like to donate you can also click the 'Donate Online' button below - please make sure you click 'Dear Santa - CHRISTMAS APPEAL' in the drop down menu!
Beenleigh Child Safety has asked for some Christmas Hampers, that they will distribute to families in our community that are doing it tough.
This year due to Covid they've lost a lot of their usual support. Gather your friends and family and let's get as many food items as we can. For details of what we need check out our Food Hamper Checklist below.
Please return all Food Hamper items by Sunday 6th December. If you're not the shopping type, money donations are also fine. We'll fill in the gaps with whatever you give. The same giving details outlined above are used for the food hampers.
Mermaid Child Safety have contact with many families in need in the Southern Region of the Gold Coast this Christmas.
Some families have recently been reunited and are starting from scratch or have had a change of foster carers and have had an extremely unsettling time leading up to Christmas.
Every day for 2 weeks we'll be sharing the individual stories of each family on our Gotchaback Facebook Page. If you see a story that you want to help out with message us on Facebook and let us know.
Sadly this Christmas there will be many women and children who have no option but to leave their homes with the clothes on their back due to Domestic Violence circumstances.
We're working in conjunction with DV Connect to provide 35 beautiful gift hampers for women and gifts for the children.
Head to the Brave Women's Facebook page to find out how you can help!
