Jesus said, ‘And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.’
I recently read a Christian article about a refugee from Saudi Arabia. He was held hostage by traffickers in an abandoned building in Europe. He was bound and tortured while negotiations with his family were being conducted for his release.
The man remembered a conversation he had previously had with a Christian. During their discussions, he was told that he could “ask Jesus to be his God” if he was ever in trouble.
When his situation became desperate, the Saudi Arabian man asked Jesus to be his God and to set him free from his situation. An amazing thing happened as he felt his hands and legs being released.
He was able to make his way through a door and felt himself being carried over a 9-foot-high perimeter wall. He heard Jesus say to him, “You are free.”
This is an astounding story about the truth of who Jesus is setting someone free from physical captivity. Jesus, who is truth, had made him free. The Bible shows Jesus setting people free 2000 years ago, and he is still doing it today. Whether you face physical, spiritual, mental or emotional confinement, Jesus can set you free. All you need to do is ask.
