unleashed youth

Unleashed is the youth and young adults ministry at Highway. We have 3 age groups: Boost (grades 7-9), Exit45 (grades 10-12) and Urban (18-30yrs) that meet on a Friday night and for Connect Groups during the week.

If you are new to Unleashed please feel free to browse our VALUES and our DREAM for 2010. In short though, you can expect; 1) a relaxed, friendly and fun atmosphere, 2) a time of praise and worship led by a team of talented and passionate musicians and 3) age relevant, bible based teaching.

With the exception of some special events Friday nights flow like this…

Hang Time (Drop Off)

Boost (grades 7-9) and Exit45 (grades 10-12) have hang-time together from 5pm – 6:30pm. Whether they’re showing their skills on the skate ramps, battling on the ping-pong or Wii or chillaxing in the café, this time is given for everyone to have an unwind at the end of the school week and to meet someone new.

This also serves as an opportunity for the occasional “messy” game before everyone heads indoors for the main part of the night.

Service

At 6:30 the auditorium doors open and the Unleashed band dials it up to loud for some passionate, youth-style praise and worship. Then we have announcements before splitting the 2 age groups for separate, age-relevant and bible-based teaching.

Pick Up

Everything wraps up at 7:30pm and the youth will be ready for pickup at the side door of the main auditorium. As the Urban program starts at 7:30 it is important that all students are picked up no later than 7:45pm.

Exit Lounge

By popular demand the Exit45 (grades 10-12) peeps have the option to hang around in the Exit Lounge until as late as 9-9:30pm. There'll be music, games and general good times.

Urban Cafe

At 7:30pm the café opens for all 18-30’s to come and enjoy a meal, a snack or just a coffee or cold drink. Get to know your fellow Urbanites in the café-lounge and enjoy a game of pool or ping-pong.

Service

At 8pm the café closes and the band starts up in the main auditorium for a time of praise and worship followed by a variety of different activities ranging from small groups to Q&A panels to straight forward bible-based teaching.

And after the service the café opens once more for everyone to grab another coffee or maybe some cake and to continue socialising until it’s time to head home.
