What opportunities are available?

Highway has many areas of ministry that are made up of multiple volunteer teams who serve on Sundays and during the week.

Guest Services

Guest Services teams believe that first impressions make a huge impact. These teams are made up of individuals who love creating welcoming environments for every guest at Highway. From welcoming our guests at the door, finding people the best seat in the house or making a new family feel welcome on their first visit; our Guest Services team is here to give our guests a five star experience.

Discipleship

Are you comfortable leading a bible study or guiding new believers through their next steps? If you are, you might be a good fit for the discipleship team. Our Discipleship team supports and encourages new Christians in their journey; it’s a rewarding opportunity to build into the lives of others.

Kid Impact

Our Children's Ministry volunteers are people with a passion to see children experience Jesus on their level. Volunteers serve kids, two years through 7th grade, in safe, age–appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. There are many opportunities to serve on Sundays and throughout the week. Friday nights also provide a fantastic opportunity to reach out and impact the local kids. Kidz Klub is a fun packed evening of games and prizes followed by a Christ centred message for kids in grades 1 to 7.

Unleashed Youth

This ministry is for volunteers who have a heart for our next generation. There are oppurtunities to serve in Boost (Grades 7-9), Exit45 (Grades 10-12) and Urban (18-30).

Reaching Thousands (Community and Missions)

From prayer and encouragement to community projects, these teams serve people in need of love and support. No matter what your passion is, Reaching Thousands will provide an opportunity for you to bless someone else using the talents God has given you. From backyard makeovers for community organisations, to breakfasts for the community and providing food parcels and support those who need a helping hand; being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ is the focus of this team. Highway also has two orphanages in India so if you love to travel and love Children why not join the team on one of their yearly mission’s trips.

Production Team

From operating cameras and sound to trouble-shooting computer issues, the Production teams use their skills in media production and technology to keep Highway on the edge. If you love pressing buttons and playing with gadgets that cost more than your first car, this is the team for you!

Creative Worship

The Highway Worship team’s mission is pretty simple – Presence Driven Worship. That is, they strive to create an atmosphere of worship that people can personally experience the presence of Jesus Christ. If you can sing or play a musical instrument (except the Tambourine) and want to use your gift to usher people into the presence of our God, this might be the team for you. Auditions for this team are required.

Car Park Team

Love being outdoors? Love cars? Why not combine the two. Our Car Park Team are the first people that our guests see when arriving at Highway. From helping mums with their prams or passing out umbrellas when it rains, our Car Park Team ensures that the five star experience starts before our guests step out of the car.

Housekeeping Team

The Highway Housekeeping Team are dedicated volunteers who also believe that first impressions count. They love the House of God and love to see it sparkle when our guests arrive.
