I pray that you will be rooted and established in Love and grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the Love of Christ.
Ephesians 3: 17b -18
Wow! Love is an awesome action to be preached about for this month. Love is the core essence of the Word of God. Everything from the beginning of creation has been founded on the Love of God for His creation, God Himself is Love.
As we draw near to this Christmas Season it points to the Love of God for us His creation. God gave us our Lord Jesus Christ to be born on Christmas day with the plan that He would die upon the Cross for all our sins and bring us back into right relationship with Him. The Christmas Story is a story of God’s love for us, for Jesus Christ was born to die for us. “John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten Son, so whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
The Bible tells us of a Love Story the Story of God pursuing His children and declaring to us that He Loves us with an everlasting Love. “I Love You with an everlasting love, which flows out of depths of eternity. Before you were born, I knew you.” Jeremiah 31:3 Yes, I have Loved you with an everlasting Love; therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you and continued my faithfulness towards you”.
Just ponder on that for a minute the awesome mystery of a Love that encompasses you from before birth to beyond the grave.
The certainty of the Fathers Love for us will enable us to weather the storms of life and that is why Papa God is calling us to came back to Him in such a way that we hunger after His presence because in that place of being still with Him it enables us to experience His eternal LOVE. During times of testing, even the best theology can fail us if it isn’t accompanied by the experiential knowledge of God’s Love. The ultimate protection against sinking during life’s storms is devoting time to develop your intimate relationship with God and experience His Love for you. Living close to God requires us to make him our First Love and Highest priority.
In that quiet and intimate place with the Lord we will start to know who we really are and believe who we are. Jesus came and died for us that we would be adopted into His household and become sons and daughters of the King. As a result we can be calm in the face of darkness because we know that Christ Jesus lives in us and is far greater than the darkness out there. Through the Fathers love we are no longer orphans but an adopted child of Father God in Heaven with an inheritance! And that inheritance is there ready and waiting for us to walk into, the greatest and most incomprehensible sacrificial gift of love given, for us to walk into our inheritance!!!!!
Ephesians 1:3-6 “ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blame before Him in Love having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
He has paid the price, what are we doing with our inheritance?
Blessing, Tracy.
Hi everyone, the weekly prayer focus from 27 November was:
GOD is LOVE, and he who dwells in LOVE dwells in GOD and GOD dwells in him!
1 John 4:16b
Did you know that it takes courage to love? The love that I am talking about is GOD'S agape, the kind of love that is totally selfless, the kind of love that leaves you vulnerable, where only the LORD HIMSELF can protect you!
1 Cor. 13:4-8 "Love endures long, and is patient and kind; love never is envious or boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily, vs5 it is not conceited, it is not rude and does not act unbecomingly. Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful, it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong],vs6 it does not rejoice at injustice or unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. vs7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, IT IS EVER READY TO BELIEVE THE BEST OF EVERY PERSON, its hopes are fadeless under ALL circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Vs8 LOVE NEVER FAILS!!
Did you know that for us to walk in the amazingness (my word) of these scriptures, we have to totally rely on the HOLY SPIRIT? Because HE is LOVE, it is HIS STRENGTH and WISDOM and GRACE that enables us to do 1 Cor 13, and no other way. But the giving of love is one thing, the receiving of love is another. Many people find it relatively easy to walk in giving, but it’s very scary for those who have been so terribly wounded in life, by opening up their hearts only to have them damaged by someone very close to them, either dying or abandoning them, or betrayal etc. Then the heart can become hardened for self-protection. BUT GOD! A wise woman of GOD once said that, yes we can be hurt when we open up to others, but never beyond the LORD being able to heal us! So Beloved, let us not only give, but also learn to receive love, not keeping any accounts of wrongs done, and think of the freedom we can walk in! Paul got it right when he said in Eph 3 (guided by the HOLY SPIRIT), [and this is my prayer also for you] v17-19 May CHRIST through your faith dwell in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it; [that you may really come] to know [practically through experience for yourselves] the LOVE of CHRIST, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of GOD [may have the richest measure of the DIVINE PRESENCE, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with GOD HIMSELF!!
Feeling courageous? Then let's open our hearts and lives, trust our beautiful LORD, and be HIS vessel of love on this planet.
GOD BLESS, Denise.
